I often toast my quinoa before cooking it (to give it a 'nutty' flavour), so washing it would make that difficult to do. I have heard from many people that they taste the resin, but it's never bothered me at all.
I have used quinoa instead of bulgur in tabbouleh and it works very well. It's a little different, but delicious! Let me know if you try the salad and what you think of it!! :-)Deborah K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10787139725764222817noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18578086.post-54772271294891774062010-03-30T09:16:53.972-07:002010-03-30T09:16:53.972-07:00I always wash it. I have this great Pampered Chef small microwave cooker that has little drain holes on the top. I put it in there, fill it with water, and then drain it. I do this 3 times and it is ready to go.

I think it would also be really great instead of bulghur wheat in a Tabbouleh Salad. Lots of lemon juice and olive oil.

The salad looks just delicious.4evaRisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17714602503067155755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18578086.post-90344078998331130152010-03-23T12:55:55.050-07:002010-03-23T12:55:55.050-07:00Hi Vicki! I have a good sense of taste, but I've never noticed it!Deborah K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10787139725764222817noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18578086.post-61491706087828367352010-03-23T12:43:00.610-07:002010-03-23T12:43:00.610-07:00Do you wash the quinoa before you cook it?
